Event Details

Hillsong Kids is ready to explode into its second round of "Midterm Mayhem" parties! Midterm Mayhem is a night of crazy games, yummy food and an all-night movie-a-thon. Bring your sleeping bag and pillow (don't forget your toothbrush!) along so that you can crash out whenever you can't handle any more fun. In the morning, we'll have breakfast ready for you - and mum, and dad, and your pet pygmy marmoset... It's the perfect way to end your midterm holiday!

All children in Years 3-6 at school are welcome to stay overnight (bring your school friends!). Parents and siblings are welcome to join us for breakfast on Saturday morning.

Venues: Midterm Mayhem will be coming near(ish) to you! We have four venues for our February MM:

London SW: St Dionis Church, Parsons Green Lane (SW6 4UH)

London NE: Broadmead Baptist Church, Chigwell Road (IG8 8PE)

Kent: The River Centre, Tonbridge (TN9 1RE)

Surrey: St Giles Church, Ashtead (KT21 1EJ)

Parent FAQs:
Q: My child has never been to a Midterm Mayhem before, what can they expect?
A: FUN! Midterm Mayhem is all about an opportunity for children to have fun with their church friends in a way that they might not get to do on a Sunday. We'd love to see them build better friendships, and enjoy a few crazy moments they'll remember for ever.

Q: Will there really be mayhem?
A: You betcha! We've been scratching our brains putting together the hottest games and craziest activities...

Q: Will they really stay up all night?
A: Hmmmm... we're not sure how to answer this one... They might! We'll have a roll of movies (kid-friendly, of course) playing through the night, so they are welcome to stay up and play. But we'll certainly have "quiet zones" for those that want to chill out a bit or go to bed. Our record for the last-one-standing so far is 6:14am!

This means, of course, that you'll want to drop your child off at 7pm on Friday. Parents, and children below Year 3, will be asked to say goodbye before 8pm.

Q: Will they be supervised?
A: Of course! From 8pm on Friday to 9am on Saturday, all venues will be "locked down" - so no-one will be let in or out without a really, really, REALLY good reason. We'll have security on the doors and our team of Hillsong Kids workers so ensure that everyone is looked after, kept safe and has fun. As with all our our activities, all of our Hillsong Kids team have been CRB cleared, undergone Child Protection training and abide by a strict code of conduct when it comes to working with children.

Q: What should my child bring?
A: It's important that they bring their sleeping bag and pillow, so that they can get to sleep (if they really want to...), and a toothbrush/toothpaste. No need to bring a towel as there are no shower facilities (they can hold on until they are home). They might want to bring a loose tracksuit or similar to sleep in (as they might not want to be running around in their pyjamas!) and a fresh change of clothes for the morning would certainly help. They are also welcome to bring some cards, boardgames etc, but remember, losing something really valuable is very upsetting, and no one makes friends by playing their Nintendo DS by themselves in the corner all night...

Q: Do we need to bring food?
A: Nah, don't worry about it! We'll put together the pizza and popcorn, and throw together some drinks. If your child has any special dietary concerns, you can let us know when you register and we'll sort them out. Midnight snacks are welcome, but please make sure they are nut-free :-)

Q: Is it going to be messy?
A:  It's best not to wear your very best clothes, as historically most of our games tend to include ketchup or shaving cream (but it certainly it won't be as messy as summer camp...) We will be inside the whole time, so there's no need for rain-jackets or wellies.

Q: What's all this talk about breakfast on Saturday?
A: We'd love to hang out with "the fam" on Saturday morning, so please feel free to arrive from 9am for a bite of breakfast and a coffee before heading home. Breakfast will be wrapping up by 11am, then it's time to grab the kids and head home!
